Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Originality

JoEMS welcomes original research articles and systematic literature reviews in education and management. Manuscripts must offer a clear scholarly contribution and must not be under consideration by another journal.

Authors must disclose related publications and explain any overlap with theses, conference papers, preprints, or earlier reports. All listed authors must meet the journal’s Authorship Criteria and approve submission.

2. Language and Presentation

Manuscripts may be prepared in Bahasa Indonesia or English, using clear and consistent academic language. Include an English abstract and keywords.

Use the current JoEMS manuscript template for layout, headings, typography, and reference presentation. Submit an editable manuscript file. Tables should remain editable, and figures must be legible.

3. Files for Anonymous Review

Provide a separate title page containing author names, affiliations, corresponding author details, and ORCID identifiers where available.

The main manuscript must be anonymised. Remove identifying information from the text, acknowledgements, file properties, and file names. Retain essential research context without unnecessarily revealing author identities.

4. Manuscript Structure

Title: State the topic and focus accurately and concisely.

Abstract: Summarise the purpose, methodology or approach, findings, practical implications where relevant, and originality or value.

Keywords: Select specific terms that represent the central topics and support discoverability.

Introduction: Explain the problem, relevant evidence, research gap, objectives, and intended contribution.

Literature Review or Theoretical Framework: Develop the concepts and arguments supporting the research. This section may be integrated with the introduction where appropriate.

Methods: Describe the design, setting, participants or evidence sources, selection procedures, instruments, analysis, and relevant ethical arrangements.

Results: Present findings clearly without unnecessary duplication between text, tables, and figures.

Discussion: Interpret findings in relation to the research questions and existing scholarship. Address implications and limitations.

Conclusion: State the principal contribution and appropriate recommendations without introducing unsupported claims.

References: Ensure that every citation matches a complete reference entry. Use relevant recent literature alongside foundational sources where necessary. Verify bibliographic details, DOIs, and URLs.

For systematic literature reviews, report the search and selection process, eligibility criteria, appraisal approach, and synthesis procedures transparently.

5. Research Ethics and Declarations

Provide statements covering author contributions, competing interests, funding, relevant acknowledgements, data availability, and substantive generative AI use.

Research involving people must explain applicable ethics review or exemption, consent arrangements, and confidentiality protections. Studies involving children require appropriate safeguarding and consent procedures.

Do not include identifiable participant information without appropriate permission. Where data cannot be shared, explain the relevant ethical or confidentiality restrictions.

Identifying declarations should be withheld from the reviewer-facing manuscript where necessary and restored before publication.

6. Submission and Revision

Submit through the JoEMS online submission system:

https://ojs.unwaha.ac.id/index.php/joems/about/submissions

Enter complete and accurate metadata for every author. Upload the required manuscript files and supporting materials, and disclose relevant prior dissemination.

For revisions, submit the revised manuscript and a point-by-point response to editorial and reviewer comments. Explain any recommendations that have not been followed.

Authors remain responsible for checking the final proofs and promptly reporting significant errors discovered after publication.
